Poker After Dark - Heads Up

This week on Poker After Dark Chris Ferguson, Phil Hellmuth, Paul Wasicka, and Ted Forrest will be playing each other heads up all week long in randomly selected matches. These are the four winners of the National Heads-up Championship that airs on NBC.
NBC keeps trying new things to keep players interested in their show, and so far I would say they are doing pretty well. The cash game was interesting and this is sure to be exciting. Of course one of the easiest ways to keep PAD interesting is having Leann Tweeden for a host as pictured right.

Erica Schoenberg final tables $750k on Full Tilt

Erica Shchoenberg, a Full Tilt pro outlasted over 4,000 people on Sunday to make the final table of the 750k guarantee tournament. Although she got 9th place overall, it's nice to see a professional outlast thousands of people in an online tourney.
She went into the final table 8th in chips. Twelve hands in she pushed with AK in middle position but a player with JJ pushed all their chips in too. Erica had no luck as a Queen high board was dealt out. She took home over $10,000 for doing better than more than four thousand players.

The Real Deal.

The first ever live poker show is coming to the Venetian in Las Vegas. Some of the biggest names in poker will be competing in this show which is set to show six times a week.

So paying poker pros to play poker? Why would they say no? The pro line-up includes Doyle Brunson, Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth, Eli Elezra, Antonio Esfandiari, Jennifer Harman, Phil Laak, Scotty Nguyen, Gavin Smith, and Todd Brunson. This is a surprisingly large lineup of big name pros.

The way the show works is each show two professionals will play with six amateurs from the audience in a tournament style NLHE game. Every other audience member plays along as the "9th player" on a handheld given to them prior to the show. The leader in points from the audience is then taken on stage to play with the last surviving amateur and the chip leading pro.

The whole concept of the show seems pretty cool and would be a great way to see some big name poker pros, and even have the chance to play with them.

Penny Pitching

Here's a video of Phil Hellmuth and Johnny Chan penny pitching against Jennifer Tilly and Phil Laak. But of course they up the stakes to more than pennies. Read below for an explanation on penny pitching.

Penny pitching is a game where you take turns throwing pennies(or quarters nowadays) against a wall. The closest person to have heir penny next to the wall gets to keep all the pennies. It's very fun played for a long period of time.

Huge pot from HSP

Thought I'd post this huge pot between Negreanu and Hansen on High Stakes Poker.

What the hell is this?

This is so lame that I have to share it? Is this an actual show?

"The royal flush in hearts... is better, than any other royal flush."

This looks to be an educational program of sorts, so why would she say that?
